Practical guidance on venues, guest flow, timing and preparation — so the planning process feels straightforward and your event runs exactly as you imagined.
Most of the decisions that shape a great event evening happen in the planning stage, not on the night itself. The earlier we understand your brief, the more tailored and considered the experience we can create for your guests.
These are the things we'll want to understand when you reach out: your guest count and profile, your venue layout, your event schedule and any specific atmosphere or styling you have in mind. None of these need to be finalised before you contact us — we can help you work through them.
Here are some things worth thinking about before you book:
Age range, background and event experience all inform which tables will land best. A mixed corporate crowd responds differently to a close group of friends celebrating a birthday.
Consider where tables will sit, how guests will flow between activities and what the sightlines look like. We'll help with this — but having a basic floor plan in advance speeds things up significantly.
Think about when the tables open, whether there are formal moments (speeches, dinner service, presentations) during which they'll pause, and when the peak activity window should fall.
A brief, warm mention in your event invitation about live table entertainment creates anticipation and ensures guests arrive ready to engage rather than uncertain about what they've walked into.
Live table entertainment works in a wide range of venue types — hotel ballrooms, event suites, private dining rooms, rooftop spaces, converted industrial venues and private homes with suitable entertaining areas. The key requirements are simple: enough floor space for the tables, adequate ceiling height for guest movement, and good lighting.
For most of our packages, you'll need approximately 15–20 square metres of clear floor space per table, with an additional observation zone around the perimeter. This is a guide — we've made things work in tighter spaces and we're happy to advise on your specific venue layout.
Lighting makes a meaningful difference to the atmosphere. Good ambient lighting — warm, even, not too bright — complements the presentation of the tables and contributes to the overall feel of the evening.
Sufficient floor space for the number of tables booked
Good ambient lighting (adjustable preferred)
Access for load-in (freight elevator or ground-level access)
Arrival setup time agreed with the venue (typically 60–90 minutes)
Venue contact available on the day of the event

For most events, 4–8 weeks is comfortable. For holiday season dates (November–January) or large corporate events requiring custom logistics, 8–12 weeks is advisable. We do occasionally accommodate shorter lead times when availability allows — it's always worth asking if your timeline is tight.
Not at all. Our hosts introduce every table clearly and warmly, walking new players through the basics in a way that feels natural rather than instructional. We've hosted events where the majority of guests had never sat at a live table before, and it works beautifully — often those guests end up being the most engaged by the end of the evening.
We use custom event chips — there's no real money involved at any point. Each guest receives a set of chips at the start of the activity window. The fun is entirely in the play: the strategy, the social interaction and the shared moments at the table. There are no financial stakes and nothing to take home except the experience.
Live tables are an addition to the evening, not a replacement for everything else. Guests who prefer to watch, socialise nearby or simply enjoy the atmosphere without playing are equally welcome — and often become players once they've seen a few rounds. The tables create energy in the room that benefits everyone present, not just those at the felt.
Absolutely. All packages allow you to choose the activity mix from our four tables — Poker, Blackjack, Roulette and Dice. We'll make recommendations based on your guest profile and event type, but the final selection is yours. Some clients run multiple tables of the same activity; others prefer a varied mix. Both approaches work well.
We always discuss the event window in advance and build in appropriate flexibility. If the evening is going particularly well and you'd like to extend the entertainment, we'll do our best to accommodate that — subject to staffing and venue agreements. The best approach is to let us know when you book if you anticipate a flexible timeline.
Yes, and we have long-standing relationships with a number of event planning companies and agencies across Canada. We're experienced at operating as a professional sub-supplier within a broader event production, working alongside AV teams, caterers, venue managers and other entertainment providers. We communicate clearly, hit our timelines and make the planner's job easier.
We operate primarily across major Canadian cities including Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton and Halifax, as well as surrounding areas. For events in less central locations, travel and logistics costs may apply — we'll outline these clearly when you enquire. We're always open to discussing events in new locations.
A brief mention in your event communications goes a long way. Something simple like "the evening will include live table entertainment — no experience necessary, all tables are hosted and open to everyone" sets the right expectation and creates genuine anticipation. We can provide suggested copy if that's helpful.
Blackjack and Roulette tend to be the most universally accessible — they're easy to understand quickly and comfortable for guests across a wide age range. For groups with a significant number of guests aged 60+, we'd typically lean toward Roulette as a centrepiece activity, as it's the most visually engaging and requires the least prior knowledge to enjoy.
Tables that open during the arrival and drinks phase capture early energy and give guests something to do while the full group assembles. This is often when the most natural, relaxed play happens.
If your event includes speeches, a dinner service or any formal proceedings, build a natural pause into the entertainment schedule. Tables that restart after dinner often see a second wave of enthusiasm.
Tables placed slightly apart from each other encourage guests to move between activities rather than clustering at one. The layout should invite exploration — not funnel everyone into a single area.
Whether your event is fully planned or still taking shape, we're available for a no-obligation conversation about what would work best for your occasion.
